“What can I say to my uncle to get him to see that he’s racist?”
Are you having trouble talking about race, racism or power in a way that feels authentic?
Do you find it difficult to find the right way for you to plug into antiracist work?
Have you said some version of the quote above?
In the quest for antiracism, there are no scripts. Nor are we limited to one single way to contribute to liberation movements. In this workshop we will explore ‘use of self’- “combining of knowledge, values, and skills… with aspects of one’s personal self, including personality traits, belief systems, life experiences, and cultural heritage.,”- as it applies to antiracism. In addition, we’ll touch on power dynamics- how does your relationship & positionality influence the way you show up in this conversation?
This 3-hour, participatory workshop is for those who are already well on their antiracism journey. You will reframe and move forward together with people who are also moving through this work.
